Questions and Answers
How do I know I will only have my pets ashes?
At Faithful Friends Pet Crematorium we only offer individual cremation not communal cremation. We keep detailed data from the moment your pet arrives in our care to the moment they are returned to you so we can guarantee you will only have your pets ashes returned to you. You will be given a certificate to verify this when your pet is returned to you.
Why should I use Faithful Friends Pet Crematorium?
We are a 'Pets Only' Crematorium. This means that unlike some crematoriums we only cremate pets and do not use our machines to incinerate other waste (such as surgical and clinical waste). We are devoted to ensuring your pet is cared for in a dignified and sympathetic way for the time that they are in our care. We are also able to help and support you, as an owner/carer, during this difficult time through Pet Bereavement Counselling. We will do our best to tailor our services to your individual and personal requirements.
What are your opening hours?
At Faithful Friends we appreciate that quite often you can be faced with losing your pet outside of office hours. We offer a 24/7 service which means at any time, day or night, we are simply a phone call away. As experienced pet owners who have, unfortunately, had to go through the loss of a pet ourselves, we can appreciate the stresses this puts on you as pet owners. Our aim is to always be there for you, when you need us the most.
Please be aware that there is an additional charge of £50 for services required outside of our operating hours (9.00am - 5.00pm).
How long will it take for my pets ashes to be returned to me?
We aim to have your pets ashes ready for collection/delivered back to you within 48 hours. However, if you would like to use our same day service, we would need to receive your pet before 11am and there is an additional charge of £50.
How do I get my pet to you?
If you are able to, you can bring your pet to us (by appointment only). We have a homely and comfortable farewell room where you can spend time saying goodbye to your pet. If you are unable to come to us we can collect from you, please refer to our Map for any additional costs, or from your vet. We would then arrange the ashes to be returned to you by delivery, at a time and place to suit you.
What do I do if my vet uses a different service?
Your vet may well have a contracted cremation service. This will often be a company that also use their machines to incinerate other waste, such as surgical and clinical waste, to cover the vets needs and may mean your pet is kept in cold storage for up to 2 weeks. If you would prefer to use Faithful Friends Pet Crematorium, all you need to do is inform your vet. Your vet can then liaise with us or you can contact us directly to make arrangements.
Can I be present during the cremation?
We are able to offer attended cremations, however this is only by prior arrangement and may be subject to fixed times/dates. We understand that for some people this is of great importance, whether for religious beliefs, ensuring an individual cremation or for any other reason but due to our busy schedule is not always possible at short notice. We can discuss your requirements in more detail on contact. Please be aware that there is an additional charge of £80 for this service.
Can I use Faithful Friends Pet Crematorium if I don't live locally?
Of course you can use our services. We welcome pets and their owners from all over the UK. If you require a collection from outside our mapped collection area, please contact us to discuss this in more detail. There may be additional charges for collection/delivery which would be quoted on application.
What facilities do you have available? Do you have Disabled access?
We have disabled access to all areas on our ground floor, which includes ample parking, bathroom (with handrails) and our Farewell Rooms.
Our on site lake and woodland walks are accessible but be aware they are grass tracks, so may be weather dependant.
Our Peace Room is based on the first floor with no disabled access, however, we will have staff available to bring any urns, caskets, tributes or memorials to the ground floor.
Complimentary drinks will be available.
